2016 Jaguar XE

The new 2016 Jaguar XE isn’t even on sale yet at Jaguar of Great Neck, so while we can’t let you test drive the new model quite yet, we can say that the new sporty compact luxury sedan has already been racking up awards. The Jaguar XE recently won the 2015 Compact Executive Car of the Year award from UK magazine Auto Express. Find out more about the award below!

Auto Express Awards

The Auto Express Awards were recently held in London, honoring the best in automotive design. The Jaguar XE won the Best Compact Executive award and was described by the judges as “…a compact exec without compromises.” The Jaguar XF also won the Design Award, selected by readers, making it a fan favorite. The Jaguar Director of Design, Ian Callum, was on hand to receive the awards at the ceremony.

The top UK-based automotive journal gave the Jaguar XE a perfect 5 out of 5 star review and called it a “…fine balance between performance, efficiency, and luxury.” The magazine praised its excellent balance of comfortable ride and sporty handling along with its “…stunning looks with cues taken from the F-Type sports car.”

The new Jaguar XE is an all-new compact luxury sedan that will go on sale next year at Jaguar of Great Neck. The new small premium car will offer unique, upscale styling, and a sporty driving experience. To add to the Auto Express honor, the Jaguar XE has already won a Car of the Year and Best Business Car Award in the Telegraph Awards, and Best New Car at the Fleet World Awards.

The new Jaguar XE will compete directly with other small, sporty luxury cars like the Audi A4, BMW 3-Series, and Cadillac ATS. The new XE will debut in three trim levels and two powertrain options, with more configurations to follow. Initially, you’ll be able to purchase the XE with either a supercharged 340-hp 3.0L V6 or a turbocharged diesel 2.0L four-cylinder. An eight speed automatic transmission will be standard all around, and later Jaguar will debut a 2.0L turbocharged gas four-cylinder and a six-speed manual option.

The new Jaguar XE should also get some high tech features. Available equipment should include the Jaguar InControl infotainment system, a fully automated parking system, a heads up display, and much more.
