Two Fascinating Concept Cars from Jaguar
Though these two concepts cars aren’t designed for production anytime soon, they both show us that Jaguar is always innovating to expand its wide inventory of new vehicles. The Jaguar C-X17 and C-X75 are both compelling, high-tech cars that tell us something about where Jaguar wants to go with its future vehicles. Below, we’ll outline some of the high-points of these two concept cars.
The Jaguar C-X17 Crossover
Do you ever wonder what a Jaguar crossover would look like? If the Jaguar C-X17 is any indication, it would be gorgeous-flexible, with aluminum architecture and a unique design, the C-X17 makes it hard to look away. It also tells us a lot about where Jaguar wants to take design: toward a sensual, smooth, and balanced body, sophisticated but futuristic. It also comes in three Jaguar-specific colors: Caesium Blue, Liquid Aluminum, and Liquid Gold.
The C-X17 boasts huge cargo space and a versatile, space-age interior. The cabin, homey and familiar, has milled aluminum and a black-brushed anodized metal finish. The gearshift is finished in ruthenium-a type of platinum. If James Bond drove a British crossover, we’re pretty sure this would be it.
The Jaguar C-X75 Concept Car
The Jaguar is a concept car for a future Jaguar-a Jaguar that could conceivably, after years of research and development, find its way onto the market. Going beyond aluminum, the C-X75 features Motorsport-inspired carbon-fiber material for the chassis. Aerodynamic and strong, carbon-fiber is carbon pressed with resin, and there’s no doubt it’s the material of the future for luxury sports cars.
Jaguar is committed to getting the C-X75 from 0 to 60 mph in less than three seconds and a top speed of over 200 mph, while its lightweight engine improves speed and performance. But this is also a low-emissions hybrid concept car, getting you 30 miles just on electric power. Jaguar’s C-X75 fuel emissions will be below the US average, despite its powertrain.
